This week in the 5 Minutes of Frivolity, I am playing The Afters’ song “Myspace Girl.”  This is a song that has great lyrical hooks, but the best part is that they insist it’s based on a true story!  Yep, their former bass player met his wife at an In-N-Out Burger in CA, and then found her on Myspace… and the rest is history!  But don’t take my word for it- watch their version of the story here!  Then watch the animated music video that has spread like wildfire all over the internet.  It’s sure to bring a smile to your face!

This is an amazing story!    A dog saved a newborn’s life in Argentina yesterday.  The baby girl had been abandoned by her 14 year old mother, but the mama dog stepped in and kept the baby safe and warm along with her own litter of puppies.  The baby was found the next morning and taken to hospital.  She is reportedly in good health and just has a few bruises.  You can read the full story here.

A woman in Ohio recently had her stolen wallet returned to her… after 44 years!  It was found in a bathroom stall at a high school during its demolition.  Kareen Reese says she remembers being annoyed when it was taken from her purse.  The worker who found the wallet also found one from 2007.  He says a hole in the wall made it a convenient place for dumping them.  In Kareen’s red cowhide wallet?  Her driver’s permit, (she had to start the process all over again!)  tickets to a school play, photographs, an excuse note for gym class and half a stick of gum.
